Lightning Arrestor

Lightning Arrester

A lightning arrester is a device used on electrical power systems and telecommunications systems to protect the insulation and conductors of the system from the damaging effects of lightning. The typical lightning arrester has a high-voltage terminal and a ground terminal.

The areas under the protection of lightning rods are identified according to the “lightning risk calculation” carried out for the facility to be protected. As a result of the analysis, the radius of the lightning rod coverage is 79m in areas with risk level 1, which can increase up to 107m in an area with risk level 3.
